Looking at my Garden and just enjoying the warm vibrant colors of Summer..I took some liberties with the colors of this little garden bird preferring to let my imagination create him.

I've really enjoyed combining colored pencil with watercolor lately. I know it's not "traditional" technique but I enoy the glow of the watercolor underneath the pencil. Last summer I roamed the horse barns at the county fair admiring the beauties there. Here are a few.

With Summer flowering, I must be thinking of the hummingbirds imminent return to our beautiful pink flowering Mimosa tree..and looking forward to seeing them again. These paintings are currently exhibited at the Excelsior Inn in Eugene, Oregon and are framed and for sale.
